“We Owe It To Egypt” Foundation launched an important initiative to eliminate the waiting lists for cardiac catheters in Upper Egypt. The initiative started from Sohag University Hospital. The Hospital is filling the entire needs of southern Upper Egypt, which represents about 15,000,000 fifteen million people.
More than 11 pediatric cardiac catheterization operations were performed in one day from the hospital's waiting lists.
These operations were carried out under the supervision of Dr. Amal El-Sisi “Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at Cairo University and Head of Intensive Care unit for Cardiothoracic Surgery at Abu Al-Rish Japanese Hospital”, in cooperation with a distinguished medical team from the Pediatric Cardiology Unit at Sohag University, with the support of “We Owe It To Egypt” Foundation. The foundation has allocated monthly amount 350,000 EGP (Three Hundred and Fifty thousands Egyptian pounds) , an approximate of 35 thousand Egyptian pounds per operation.
As part of the foundation initiative to eliminate the children cardiac waiting list in Upper Egypt, the foundation will extend its support for the rest of the universities hospitals in Upper Egypt, ex Assuit, Aswan, Beni seouf University hospitals.
In Addition to the above, the foundation also provided Sohag University with two ambulances cars equipped with intensive care unit, due to the large number of accidents on the highways.
